Finding a cap in the right size can sometimes be difficult, but with the help of our size guide for caps and flat caps, we will guide you correctly. Keep in mind that the head shape can also come into play, this is part of finding a perfect fit.

Size guide step by step

1. Use a soft measuring tape or string

2. Place the measuring tape around your head as pictured above, just above your ears and eyebrows.

3. If you use a string, measure the length of the string where you measured it.

4. Now you have your measurement in centimeters

Now you are ready to choose the right size, if you are between two sizes, you choose the larger size.

New Era 59fifty and other fitted caps

When it comes to 59fifty from New Era and also Mitchell & Ness fitted caps, you choose the size you are closest to, so if you are between 2 sizes, you choose the larger size. With the help of our Cap Sizers, you can make the cap fit perfectly if it is just a little too big. Available for purchase under cap accessories. You can also use other soft material and lay inside the sweatband for a tighter cap.

Always measure first before buying

Our 59fifty are refilled in stock about 4-5 times a year and it is always better to wait for refilling instead of taking a chance on another size, because it will probably not fit. If the cap is just a little too big (millimeters), you can use a hair dryer and a little water to reduce the size for the right fit (at your own risk!). Youtube has several videos on how to improve the fit and screen bending etc. Nothing we recommend if you are brand new to the 59fifty family. 59fifty differ even if the size is the same. This is because the caps are hand-sewn and are available in different materials, e.g. cotton and polyester, sometimes you simply have to try it out.
